Melissa has been an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Postpartum Doula for over 15 years. She previously taught breastfeeding and childbirth education classes to expecting parents for 5 years in the hospital. Melissa has helped thousands of parents, and currently works with new families providing overnight newborn support, and in-home lactation consultations through her company Baby Feed Sleep Love.
She fell into this world by accident when she realized how much she enjoyed helping friends who were having babies. After personally having a tough experience with breastfeeding, despite having successfully breastfed her two previous children and no one to turn to for help, she became an IBCLC. She wanted to help new parents, so they didn’t have to go through the trauma that she went through.

This career is more than a job to Melissa; it’s a passion and a calling. This passion has turned into mentoring other doulas and NCS’s throughout the years. Melissa would get calls and emails asking for help with their clients. They would ask for any tips or tricks for the first night home from the hospital. She loves answering questions from her colleagues because it was a way of supporting new moms.

Melissa’s biggest inspiration from all this are her 3 grown children, who mean everything to her. She loves caring for postpartum families struggling with lactation, as well as helping new and experienced doulas and NCS’s problem solve breastfeeding situations.
